The Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department's graduate program has a global reputation for shaping students into engineering leaders across practice, research, and education. We encourage motivated, high-achieving students to apply for our M.S.E. and Ph.D. programs.
Today's intricate challenges at the intersection of urban development, water resources, and energy require engineers with both specialized expertise and broad perspective. Our approach combines foundational theory with practical application through rigorous teaching and research.

We provide Master of Science in Engineering degrees in both Civil Engineering and Environmental/Water Resources Engineering, while the Ph.D. is exclusively offered in Civil Engineering. Prospective Architectural Engineering graduate students should apply through the Civil Engineering program.
Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution. A grade point average of at least 3.00 in upper-division (junior- and senior-level) coursework and in any graduate work already completed.
The minimum scores considered acceptable for admission by the Graduate School are:
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
