The joint MSCivE/JD degree is a partnership between the Law School and the engineering department. This program enables students to apply 12 credits of approved civil engineering graduate courses toward their JD requirements, while also counting 12 credits of approved law classes toward their MSCivE degree. Graduate advisors from both programs will jointly decide which courses qualify for this dual credit arrangement.
This JD/MSCivE combination primarily serves students pursuing the MSCivE Plan II (non-thesis track). Those opting for Plan I (thesis track) may only apply a maximum of six law credits toward their MSCivE, compared to the twelve credits allowed under Plan II.
