The Aerospace Engineering (ASE) graduate program at The University of Texas at Austin ranks among the nation's top 10, providing students the chance to conduct groundbreaking research alongside renowned faculty. The program offers rigorous academic training and research opportunities culminating in Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Alumni establish careers as aerospace engineers, researchers, innovators, astronauts, executives, and industry pioneers.
Our curriculum enables students to pursue either a Master of Science in Engineering or a Doctor of Philosophy in aerospace engineering. While a Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering or a related engineering discipline is typically required, applicants with science or mathematics degrees may qualify after completing necessary preparatory coursework.
This specialization focuses on orbital dynamics, space geodesy, and remote sensing applications for spacecraft and astronomical objects. Research initiatives receive support and funding from NASA, the Department of Defense, various government entities, and the expanding private space sector.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for graduate study in aerospace engineering and engineering mechanics, students must satisfy the following minimum requirements:
Hold a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics, or in a closely related field of engineering from an accredited institution.
Have a minimum 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) in junior- and senior-level work and in any graduate work already completed. Average GPA and GRE numbers of applicants, admitted students and entrants to our program are available at the UT Office of Graduate Admissions website
General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Requirement The GRE test is required for Spring, Summer and Fall admissions.
Submit official transcripts from previous colleges or universities.
Upload a Statement of Purpose and Resume (or CV).
Three Letters of Recommendation
A grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or a comparable GPA in upper-division workjunior- and senior-level coursesand in any graduate work already completed is also required.
