Mechanical engineers invent devices involving mechanical processes, ranging from wheelchairs and rehabilitation tools to aircraft carriers, automotive engines, toys, and specialized gadgets. Their work encompasses motion mechanics, energy transfer and conversion, material development for products, discovering new energy sources, optimizing transportation, and designing mechanical, electromechanical, and fluid power systems. Often called the general practitioners of engineering, they operate across nearly all engineering sectors and pursue careers in business, medicine, or law.

Minimum scores acceptable for admission are:
TOEFL: 79 (internet-based test)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
