The UTA Psychology Department offers outstanding prospects for students pursuing careers in psychology. Our Experimental Psychology Ph.D. program focuses on research mentorship, with specializations in Psychological Sciences and Health/Neuroscience. Note that we don't provide graduate programs in clinical or counseling psychology.

Graduate students in our department gain comprehensive training in experimental psychology while conducting focused research in their chosen field of psychological sciences or health/neuroscience, as they're paired with faculty mentors before enrollment. The program emphasizes rigorous scientific experimentation across psychology's core domains: cognitive, developmental, evolutionary, learning and memory, neural modeling, neuroscience, personality, quantitative methods, industrial/organizational, and social psychology. Ph.D. candidates can concentrate on specific research areas aligned with our faculty expertise.
