The printmaking program focuses on idea development through hands-on creation and examining graphic aesthetics. In studio projects and lectures, students explore how to practically and conceptually transform, repurpose, and combine images. Coursework highlights innovative and thoughtful applications of print media while addressing current artistic concerns; acquired skills translate across various creative disciplines.
Printmaking classes are structured into introductory and upper-level tiers. Foundational courses familiarize students with printmaking methods, technical skills, historical context, and modern tools. Higher-level classes enable students to create unified print collections, facilitating thorough process investigation.
Through workshops, critiques, and creative trials, students engage with printed imagery. The print studio's supportive, teamwork-oriented environment enriches the overall learning experience.
