Each year, UTA theatre students engage in a dynamic season of artistic growth, honing their skills through both classroom learning and practical stage work. The program combines production experience with coursework in theater history, dramatic literature, and scriptwriting, fostering both creative and analytical abilities. While providing a wide-ranging curriculum, the department maintains an intimate learning environment that encourages strong faculty-student connections. Situated in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the program gives students access to professional opportunities in one of the nation's most vibrant theater markets.

Our theatre arts curriculum trains performers, designers, and educators for careers both locally in DFW and across the country. Students gain professional-level preparation that serves as excellent preparation for graduate studies. Through practical production work, personalized faculty guidance, and career-focused training, we equip theatre arts majors with the tools for professional success in the performing arts field.
