The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy offers a distinctive PharmD/PhD Dual Degree Program designed for exceptional students. This integrated curriculum merges the standard PharmD with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Participants admitted to this program will engage in pharmaceutical research throughout their first three academic years, including summers, while completing their PharmD requirements. After earning their PharmD, students will shift entirely to PhD studies. The program aims to cultivate expert pharmaceutical scientists for careers in academia, industry, and government while expanding the pool of clinician-researchers capable of bridging laboratory discoveries with clinical applications to accelerate medical advancements.

Qualification Requirements

Must first be admitted to the PharmD program at the UT Health Science Center College of Pharmacy.
Must hold a BS or a BA degree in one of the sciences. such as Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, etc.
A minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
A Graduate Record Examination (GRE) minimum of 300 (verbal and quantitative on the general test) and 3.5 on the analytical section.
Prior research experience, although not required, is strongly encouraged.

TOEFL score of at least 213/79 on the computer-based/Internet- based exam or an IELTS score of 6.5
