The department provides a Five-Year BS-MS program designed for exceptional students. A key feature allows eligible students to enroll in up to 9 credit hours of approved graduate-level courses during their senior year, which can simultaneously fulfill requirements for both their undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Tennessee. This program specifically benefits students planning to pursue their Master of Science at UT, as other institutions might not recognize these courses for graduate credit if they've been applied toward undergraduate degree requirements.

To apply for admission as an undergraduate student, each international student is required to provide the following:
A completed application for undergraduate admission.
Complete one required essay chosen from one of seven prompts.
Optional: Submit recommendation letters (academic, professional, or personal) and a Personal Statement.
