The Computer Science Bachelor's degree equips you to create, deploy, and evaluate technological solutions for business challenges, organizational needs, and everyday situations. Our program incorporates fundamental computing principles like software engineering, computer architecture, programming languages, operating systems, algorithm design, software testing, database systems, network infrastructure, and information security. A mathematics minor is woven into the coursework to strengthen your computational thinking and logical reasoning skills. Graduates pursue careers as software engineers, application developers, IT project leaders, data analysts, quality assurance specialists, and programming professionals.
Applicants must have graduated from high school or have successfully completed the General Education Development (GED) test to be considered for admission. Freshman applicants applying for admission to Youngstown State University must submit a high school transcript and American College Test (ACT) or Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores.
