The Mathematics Department's core purpose is to generate, explore, and share mathematical knowledge across diverse areas. Fulfilling this requires engagement in multiple endeavors: conducting mathematical research, delivering comprehensive mathematics education, and serving our state, country, and fellow mathematicians. Instruction We must champion excellent teaching by qualified mathematics professionals. Our teaching mission encompasses varied activities for different audiences. To achieve this, the Department is dedicated to: Providing undergraduate mathematics majors with an extensive curriculum in both pure and applied mathematics, establishing a thorough foundation for numerous career paths. Administering graduate programs for master's and PhD candidates that deliver profound, wide-ranging mathematical expertise, equipping them for prominent positions as educators, researchers, or industry mathematicians locally and globally.
