At USD, internships and research projects offer practical professional experience. Our students have secured placements at renowned institutions like the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Closer to campus, you can apply classroom knowledge through internships at the W.H. Over Museum and various community organizations. Numerous undergraduate research options exist, including collaborative projects in USD's Archaeology Laboratory. Past students have participated in skeletal research at Baylor University or joined summer excavations at historic South Dakota sites through the Susan Tuve Archaeological Field School.
