Anthropology explores humanity across cultures and throughout history. Cultural anthropology, a key branch, investigates how culture intersects with meaning-making and societal influences like politics and economics. Our Cultural Anthropology program equips students with insights into diverse cultures, social systems, and research methodologies. Through anthropology courses, students develop nuanced perspectives on both domestic and global current affairs. The curriculum spans from foundational theories to practical applications, covering pressing modern issues such as globalization, urban dynamics, gender studies, healthcare, and technological impacts. Additionally, we provide a specialized three-course track in physical and forensic anthropology. All majors undertake original research in their culminating methods course, honing skills in data collection, cross-cultural communication, and critical analysis of cultural contexts. Graduates emerge prepared for diverse careers in our multicultural society, with opportunities in business, healthcare, public service, and legal fields. Many alumni successfully pursue advanced degrees in anthropology, public health, social work, and related disciplines.
