The Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program at USA equips students for careers in clinical audiology and certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), while also providing a pathway for advanced PhD studies. Our curriculum blends core scientific coursework with focused instruction in diagnosing, treating, and preventing hearing and balance conditions for patients of all ages.
Through clinical rotations at the USA Speech and Hearing Center and diverse off-campus locations—including medical facilities, educational institutions, and private clinics—students develop practical skills. This nine-semester program incorporates three semesters of intensive clinical externships, fulfilling both national CCC-A certification and Alabama state licensing prerequisites. Annual Graduate Assistantship opportunities are offered on a competitive basis.
The application period opens August 1 for Summer Semester enrollment. While December 15 serves as the priority deadline, applications are evaluated continuously as they become complete, with admissions decisions made accordingly.

Qualification Requirements
To be considered for admission, applicants must: Have earned or be in the process of completing a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. Demonstrate a preferred minimum 3.0 (A=4.0) overall undergraduate GPA. International applicants must submit documentary evidence showing TOEFL test scores of at least 600 (written form), 250 (computer version), or 100 (internet based version), or bachelor’s or graduate degrees earned at accredited United States institutions of higher education. A minimal IELTS score of 7 is considered equivalent to the TOEFL scores required. Application Deadlines: Fall - 1st February.
