With over 230 million people worldwide residing outside their birth countries, international migration stands as one of the most pressing global challenges of our time. This master's program centers on addressing the difficulties encountered by these individuals, equipping professionals to improve conditions for migrants and refugees across the globe. Our alumni pursue careers in government agencies, policy research centers, educational institutions, consulting firms, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, public interest entities, charitable foundations, and corporate sectors. Below are key advantages of studying migration studies. The Master of Arts in Migration Studies is a 31-credit, two-year program commencing each autumn semester. The curriculum includes five foundational courses, four specialized topic courses, and four research seminars.
Students complete five core courses, four elective courses on specialized topics, and four research seminars. The program offers summer fieldwork and cultural immersion experiences, with global opportunities provided through the extensive network of more than 200 Jesuit universities and affiliated social service organizations.
