Progress in quantitative techniques has expanded and enhanced the range of research questions we can explore. These innovations offer fresh, robust approaches to linking theoretical frameworks with real-world data. Our faculty employ diverse data gathering and analytical methods. With our department's strong quantitative focus, we provide multiple pathways for students to develop varying degrees of proficiency. A defining feature of Penn State's Sociology graduate program is its rigorous quantitative methodology curriculum. This focus is supported by numerous faculty members with quantitative expertise, twelve regularly scheduled graduate-level quantitative courses, and the option to pursue a Quantitative Methods Certificate.
