The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering provides undergraduate degrees in audio and music engineering (BS) and audio arts and technology (BA).
Our goal is to equip a varied student body with the expertise and abilities needed to excel as pioneers in the evolving sectors of audio and music engineering and audio arts technology. Central to our curriculum are experiential education, practical design work, and fostering creativity. We educate students to methodically identify and address challenges, to innovate in both artistic and technical realms, and to understand engineering's impact on contemporary society. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering awards a BS in Audio and Music Engineering and a BA in Audio Arts and Technology.
Internships
Students majoring in audio and music engineering (AME) are highly recommended to engage in professional internships. Typically, internships do not count toward academic credit. Those seeking credit for an internship must secure advance authorization from the AME undergraduate program chair. Audio arts and technology (AAT) majors are advised to check Handshake, the University's internship platform, and the Greene Career Center internship website for available opportunities.
