Your academic and studio coursework is enhanced by hands-on experience during the production season. Every year, significant theater productions offer chances to put classroom theories and techniques into practice.
The program emphasizes practical studio training, while the B.A. degree includes more lecture-based and discussion-oriented courses. Typically, a B.F.A. dedicates about two-thirds of its curriculum to the arts, with the remaining third covering liberal arts subjects. For a Theatre B.A., this balance is often flipped. This intensive studio-focused approach provides graduates with a distinct advantage in the field. It's what sets our program apart from other institutions.
Those pursuing stage management must complete an extra 30 credits, including courses like Management and Supervision Fundamentals, Business Communication, Independent Theatre Projects, Collaborative Theatre Studies, Theatre Administration, Costume or Set Design, Lighting Techniques, Advanced Independent Studies, Advanced Group Projects, and Advanced Theatre Administration.
