The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Theatre with an Acting Concentration prepares students for professional careers in entertainment, emphasizing comprehensive training in theatre and film performance. The program cultivates versatile artists through instruction in diverse performance areas, both onstage and behind the scenes, including television, media, and commercial work. Students gain hands-on experience by engaging in high-caliber productions that meet industry standards. Internship opportunities are strongly recommended and accessible.

The Acting Concentration within the B.I.S. program explores the historical context, theoretical foundations, and practical application of live theatrical performance. Theatre and acting classes aim to nurture students' artistic growth for careers in performing arts or related fields, while also enhancing cultural appreciation and verbal communication skills for those pursuing other paths. Through the University Theatre and Georgia State University Players, majors obtain real-world performance experience. Special project credits and internships allow students to leverage Atlanta's professional theatre community and customize their education to align with individual career objectives.
