This joint degree program integrates social work and nonprofit leadership studies for students dedicated to driving social transformation at both individual (clinical) and systemic (policy) levels. The MSW/NPL curriculum blends practical skills with theoretical knowledge to equip future social workers to: Establish and manage nonprofit entities across local, national, and international contexts. Develop programs and organizations that offer creative approaches to persistent social issues. Through this dual degree, students can obtain both qualifications by finishing 22 course units (CUs), with the option to apply four courses toward both degrees. The program permits counting two MSW classes as NPL electives and two NPL classes as MSW electives. Typically completed in five semesters (including summer sessions in the first two years), the MSW/NPL program also offers flexibility to extend to six or seven semesters. Academic advisors from both programs will work together to evaluate course selections and design personalized study plans for dual degree candidates.
