The Health and Societies (HSOC) program explores health and medicine through a societal lens, providing students with analytical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge for careers in public health, healthcare services, and diverse professional fields. Grounded in three foundational disciplines—anthropology, history, and sociology—the curriculum incorporates approaches from epidemiology, political science, business/economics, law, environmental studies, and bioethics. This multidisciplinary framework equips students to understand the complex factors influencing modern healthcare systems. Graduates emerge as versatile thinkers, proficient in multiple social science methodologies—theoretically grounded yet solution-oriented, with both international awareness and hands-on community engagement.
