The MLA Track I program spans three years (144 credits) and welcomes students from all undergraduate disciplines. Our cohort's varied academic backgrounds—ranging from botany and forestry to fine arts, history, and philosophy—foster a rich, intellectually diverse learning atmosphere.
The program features a core series of seven design studios, complemented by courses in history and theory, analysis and planning, media, construction techniques, and research methodologies. It culminates in an independent research project, design thesis, or capstone initiative. No prior coursework is needed for admission.
The following link outlines the MLA program's educational objectives. Our curriculum focuses on examining landscapes through multiple lenses and scales to cultivate inventive design, analytical reasoning, and practical solutions. We view design as an exploratory journey involving inquiry, experimentation, iteration, and assessment. Our mission is to shape spaces that meet human aspirations while prioritizing ecological sustainability and social equity.
