The Dual Degree program in Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation highlights the relationship between these two fields in examining and working with cultural landscapes. Students will gain skills for careers with established preservation and landscape architecture initiatives, including the National Park Service's Historic American Landscape Survey (HALS), the Cultural Landscape Foundation, and various state/local park systems such as the NPS Olmstead Plantation.
Those applicants who have earned or will earn a bachelor's degree at a regionally accredited college or university in the United States (or the equivalent of a baccalaureate degree from a nationally recognized institution in another country) are eligible to be considered for admission to the Graduate School at the University of Maryland
