The Department of Romance Languages provides graduate programs for students seeking a master of arts in Romance languages, French, Italian, or Spanish, as well as doctoral studies leading to a PhD in Romance languages or Spanish.
Graduate candidates can earn an MA specializing in French, Italian, or Spanish, or opt for a dual-language MA in Romance Languages. MA students complete a year-long research initiative under faculty guidance alongside their regular coursework.
Our department features MA programs in French, Italian, Spanish, and Romance Languages, with the latter enabling dual-language study. Students develop cultural literacy, master discipline-specific theories and methods, gain professional presentation skills at the Fall Forum, and enhance their research and writing abilities through the MA Essay requirement.
