The doctoral program in East Asian languages and literatures, specializing in Chinese literature, mandates at least six 4-credit graduate courses beyond the MA requirements.

Based on the student's prior knowledge or preparation upon entering the PhD program, this requirement may increase to nine or twelve courses. Course selection should be made in collaboration with the student's academic advisor.
