Participants who finish the specialization gain expertise in delivering culturally-appropriate mental health services and conducting research focused on Latinx and Spanish-speaking communities.
Our Spanish Specialization builds upon existing language skills and multicultural awareness while deepening knowledge about Spanish-speaking populations in the US.
The curriculum teaches students to analyze the distinct social, historical, political, and cultural factors affecting Latinx communities in the United States.
Special emphasis is placed on examining systemic injustice and inequality, and their impact on Latinx and Spanish-speaking populations' health and welfare, though these represent just some of the program's numerous objectives and skill development areas.
