Printmaking exposes students to various traditional methods while offering extensive insight into modern print media approaches. Students are motivated to explore different techniques, processes, and formats, as well as cross-disciplinary ventures into other artistic mediums.
Courses cover the four primary printmaking methods: relief, intaglio, lithography, and screenprinting. Intermediate/Advanced Printmaking is available each spring semester for those proficient in at least two printmaking techniques. In this higher-level course, students build upon conventional methods and develop their emerging artistic style by experimenting with marks, matrices, and multiples.
