Spanish majors delve into the study of language, literature, and cultural traditions across Spanish-speaking regions, both past and present. The program features two specialization tracks. The literature and culture focus provides courses examining literary works, cinema, visual arts, and various media spanning different eras, enabling students to appreciate the rich diversity of Hispanic cultures. Alternatively, the language and society track immerses students in the historical and societal frameworks of Spanish-speaking populations, offering insights into linguistic structures and regional dialects that reflect the unique identities of Spanish-speaking communities worldwide.
