The University of Oregon's Anthropology Department offers opportunities to explore diverse cultures and communities, excavate fossils, observe primate behavior, discover historical artifacts, and beyond. Focus on your academic passions through our three specialized tracks: cultural anthropology, physical anthropology, and archaeological studies.

Our faculty consists of practicing anthropologists conducting research on past and contemporary societies across West Africa, East Africa, Latin America, North America, East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and the Caribbean region. Examine humanity through ecological and evolutionary frameworks while developing insights into biological diversity and our connections to the animal kingdom. Engage in global fieldwork programs that involve artifact recovery expeditions and immersive cultural studies abroad.
