Our classes span from introductory to advanced levels in ballet, modern dance, pointe, men's technique, choreography, Pilates conditioning, mime, classical and contemporary repertoire, partner work, teaching pedagogy, creative movement, and comprehensive dance history courses. Live musical accompaniment enhances all technical training sessions.
Students join us from throughout the U.S. and internationally, gaining diverse performance opportunities through seasonal productions in our campus theaters. They also participate in touring performances, opera collaborations, musical theater productions, and cross-disciplinary artistic projects.
Established in 1965, the University of Oklahoma's Rupel J. Jones Fine Arts Center serves as home to both the Dance and Drama programs. The facility features two professional dance studios along with the recently upgraded Elsie C. Brackett Theatre - a 570-seat venue with cutting-edge lighting and sound technology. Additional resources include a scene construction workshop, design laboratory, costume department with dye facilities, wardrobe storage, makeup studio, gender-specific dressing areas, and the cozy Weitzenhoffer Theatre.
