The field of Intercultural Communication examines how people from diverse cultural backgrounds (including ethnic and racial differences) interact and communicate with each other. This discipline investigates communication challenges across various social settings, ranging from personal conversations and small group discussions to interactions within multicultural workplaces and neighborhood communities. Additionally, it encompasses cultural communication research that analyzes distinctive communication styles within particular cultures, alongside comparative studies that examine communication differences between multiple cultures. International Communication This specialization critically analyzes media and cultural phenomena in global settings. Employing diverse research methods such as ethnographic studies, phenomenological interpretation, textual/discourse criticism, and statistical analysis, it investigates the interplay between cultural perspectives and media systems, content, and viewership. Such studies reveal how media and cultural influences mold societal structures, from local communities to worldwide connections. The research also treats culture and media as dynamic arenas where issues of ethnicity, social class, and gender intersect in movements for societal transformation.
