Nuclear Medicine is a specialized field employing radiopharmaceuticals, scintillation cameras, and computer systems to visualize and measure diverse physiological functions in the body. Technologists in this area administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, position them correctly for imaging, and operate the equipment to generate images and interpret the data. They possess comprehensive expertise in radiation safety protocols, regulations, and radiopharmacy practices. The resulting images and data offer physicians critical insights into injuries and disease mechanisms affecting organ performance. In hospitals and clinics, these technologists conduct general, cardiac, and oncological procedures on both adult and pediatric patients.
