Electrical engineering focuses on electricity technology, and as a student in this field, you will create, develop, manufacture, and enhance a wide variety of electrical devices. You will gain a foundational understanding of circuit operations. Proficiency in abstract thinking is beneficial, since although you will handle physical components like conductors, switches, capacitors, and transistors, many underlying processes are not directly observable.

Graduates in electrical engineering enter professions in sectors including energy production and distribution, sustainable energy, power electronics, biomedical imaging and devices, signal and image analysis, telecommunications, optical and photonic systems, automation and control, and numerous other specialties.
