Environmental engineers apply physics, biology, and chemistry principles to create solutions for environmental issues like water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, solid and hazardous waste management, recycling, and water resources management. They work to understand and shield us from environmental dangers while constructing durable infrastructure without harming the environment. At OU, environmental engineering students can focus on water and wastewater engineering, solid and hazardous wastes engineering, or hydrology/water resources. They gain practical skills through hands-on learning, applying classroom knowledge to real-world situations. Upper-class students provide tutoring and mentorship, and there are chances to broaden perspectives via study abroad programs. With distinguished faculty and industry expert speakers, students enhance their professional growth and gain a competitive edge for their future careers.
