The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center provides both undergraduate and graduate programs focused on typical speech and hearing functions as well as related disorders. These academic offerings hold full accreditation from two respected bodies: the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Council on Academic Accreditation and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Undergraduate studies concentrate on foundational knowledge about standard communication processes and introductory concepts about communication impairments. Graduate programs delve deeper into diagnostic methods and therapeutic approaches for diverse conditions such as aphasia, pediatric speech impairments, post-laryngectomy voice rehabilitation, cerebral palsy, cleft palate issues, language-based learning challenges, and auditory impairments. The department also fosters collaborative research initiatives between students and faculty members across all academic levels.
