Assist individuals in managing crises, everyday life challenges, and psychological difficulties. Our Counseling Psychology Program primarily focuses on educating health service psychologists through a scientist-practitioner approach that considers both individual and cultural diversity, along with the significance of social contexts at micro and macro levels. UNT's Counseling Psychology Program embraces the scientist-practitioner training model, emphasizing the continuous integration of practice and scientific inquiry throughout a psychologist's education and professional journey. The program operates on the principle that human challenges stem from intricate interplays between biological factors, environmental influences, and personal developmental changes.

We strongly support diversity and social justice in all aspects, particularly within psychology as it contributes to stress reduction and mental health enhancement. We deeply respect each person's inherent worth, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, age, physical or cognitive abilities, political or spiritual views, socioeconomic status, or other personal characteristics. These core values and ethical standards are intentionally woven into our counseling psychology training and professional practice.
