Shape the future of urban landscapes. Urban planners are essential in crafting and building communities throughout Texas, nationwide, and globally. With expanding populations comes an increasing demand for spaces that offer character, environmental responsibility, public services, and recreational opportunities. These professionals assess community requirements and collaborate with government leaders, engineers, architects, creative professionals, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative short-term and long-range planning solutions. A key advantage of our program is its strong connections with municipal authorities and urban planning firms in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. These relationships enable us to offer exceptional networking possibilities with regional development experts while providing hands-on practical experience. The curriculum covers essential topics including population statistics, municipal operations, geographic information systems, development ordinances, zoning laws, architectural concepts, and eco-friendly initiatives.
