The Master of Science Program in Kinesiology specializing in Motor Behavior is designed for students seeking advanced expertise in motor learning and control. This degree program consists solely of coursework without a thesis requirement.
The Motor Behavior specialization emphasizes research in both motor learning and motor control disciplines. Through this cooperative academic setting, we train professionals, scientists, and instructors to minimize injury risks, facilitate post-injury recovery, and enhance wellbeing and athletic performance across all age groups.
For more than 100 years, the Kinesiology Department has served as a foundational unit of the University. Originating in 1892 as the Department of Physiology and Physical Culture within the Women's College, the department pioneered the innovative perspective that physical activity was essential for women's health and wellbeing. While our name has changed throughout the university's growth, our fundamental commitment to advancing physical health education and training continues unchanged.

Qualification Requirements
The Graduate School requires a course-by-course evaluation report showing completion of a bachelors and a graduate degree if required by the program that is equivalent to a US degree from an international college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
Students enter Graduate School with no academic standing and are expected to earn at least a GPA of 3.0 in their first semester to be placed in Academic Good Standing Continuing students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate course work at UNCG to remain in Academic Good Standing.
Academic Transcripts - For US transcripts please follow the normal protocol from your institution when ordering official transcripts For Undergraduate Admissions the International Recruitment and Admissions Office accepts stamped copies of high school transcripts from US community colleges.
