The department boasts specialized facilities for studying neuromuscular physiology, cardiovascular function, exercise science, metabolic processes, biomechanics/sports medicine, and community-based research. The Health and Human Performance Department strives to generate and share knowledge that supports evidence-based approaches in health promotion, public health, exercise science, and recreation fields. Its goal is to become a nationally recognized force in enhancing human performance and health-related wellbeing. The exercise and sports science program focuses on developing students into perpetual learners through cutting-edge instruction, research, and community engagement. It further seeks to produce graduates who exemplify healthy lifestyles while moving the profession forward.
