The Doctoral (Ph.D.) program is designed for students seeking to specialize in research methodology, measurement sciences, or program evaluation. Applicants to the Ph.D. program should possess foundational knowledge in quantitative methods and/or evaluation, typically through a master's degree in a relevant discipline (such as methodology, measurement, evaluation, statistics, or mathematics) or equivalent graduate-level training matching the ERM M.S. curriculum. Students interested in the ERM Ph.D. without this background may apply for the combined M.S./Ph.D. track.
This program cultivates methodological expertise, preparing graduates for impactful careers in research methodology, educational measurement, and program evaluation. The Ph.D. curriculum balances broad training across methodological domains with deep specialization in one or more focus areas tailored to each student's academic and professional goals.
Students entering the Ph.D. program also come from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, but they are expected to have previous training in statistics.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
