The Geography PhD program empowers students to expand their expertise in both the scope and sophistication of geographic theories and research techniques. Doctoral candidates select a specialization from three distinct tracks: Urban Planning and Regional Development, Environmental Systems and Resource Conservation, or Geospatial Data Science.
The program concludes with either a conventional dissertation or a series of three research articles suitable for academic publication.
This specialization encompasses studies in metropolitan growth and economic strategies across various regional contexts, addressing topics like infrastructure planning, hospitality economics, population dynamics, jurisdictional demarcations, and commercial location analysis. Faculty research strengths focus on North American, European, and Asian contexts.
