The Master of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences program enables students to fulfill all qualifications for ASHA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology. Those not pursuing ASHA certification may request approval from the program coordinator to complete the degree without clinical components, though this path demands extra research involvement.

This 60-credit-hour clinical pathway blends hands-on training with an extensive academic curriculum. Accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation for Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, successful graduates qualify for both ASHA certification and North Carolina state licensing.
With America's increasingly diverse population, the demand for culturally aware, highly trained speech-language pathologists who can deliver evidence-based care has never been higher. Our program attracts candidates eager to serve diverse clinical populations, including cultural minorities and underserved communities. The curriculum fosters learning through classroom instruction, lab work, and practical clinical exposure.
Non-Clinical Track
This alternative track caters to students not seeking ASHA certification, including international students from countries that don't recognize ASHA credentials. It also appeals to those aiming for research or industry careers rather than clinical practice.
