The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provides multiple degree programs in mathematics and mathematical sciences, giving students diverse career opportunities in this discipline. Careers that heavily rely on mathematical expertise span across industries, government sectors, and academia, including roles like actuarial professionals, data analysts, systems specialists, and teaching positions. Both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees are available in Mathematics. As a cornerstone of intellectual development and cultural advancement, mathematics has gained even greater significance with modern technological progress. Mathematics majors can choose between the B.A. or B.S. track. The B.A. curriculum offers greater flexibility compared to the B.S., enabling students to focus on mathematics while either pursuing a comprehensive liberal arts education or concentrating on a secondary field (potentially earning a dual major).
All students will be expected to have completed the pre-university curriculum (Secondary School/High School) in their country prior to enrolling at UNC-Chapel Hill. English Language Tests: TOEFL minimum is 100; IELTS minimum is 7.0; PTE minimum is 68.
