Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to teach grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom experience. Graduates develop both teaching methodologies and subject-matter expertise, equipping them to educate varied student populations in secondary school settings. Participants learn to effectively integrate technology into modern educational environments. Upon finishing the program, students receive their bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, including approvals in their primary teaching field and potential minor specialization areas.
