As the sole program of its kind in southeastern Louisiana, the CEE specialization emphasizes structural, geotechnical, environmental, hydraulic systems, water resources, and coastal engineering principles. Participants gain expertise in applying scientific and mechanical laws to the planning, alteration, erection, and creation of diverse structures, while exploring how civil engineering both combats and utilizes natural forces to enhance living conditions.

Qualification Requirements
Students must have earned a bachelor's degree in a field of engineering from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program.
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the U.S. or equivalent from a recognized institution of higher learning abroad.
Applicants enrolled in the final year of a bachelor's degree or international equivalent will be considered for conditional admission.
2.5 overall grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale for a bachelor's degree.
2.75 overall grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale on the last 60 hours of undergraduate coursework.
3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 point scale on at least nine hours of graduate coursework.
