This 26-credit, two-semester program targets individuals holding a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a comparable field who aim to build careers in structural design. Applicants from different academic backgrounds may enroll but could need supplementary classes. Participants must complete a minimum of five advanced structural engineering courses while choosing a specialized minor focus area. The MEng in Structural Engineering equips students for structural design careers through comprehensive training in analysis and design principles, along with chances to collaborate with industry professionals across related fields.

Qualification Requirements
The Civil and Environmental Engineering department expects an applicant to have earned a Bachelor's degree in the field or an equivalent by the time they register in a CEE program. Applicants should possess a very strong background in math, physics, chemistry, or engineering. Admission is extremely competitive.
Applicants without a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering may be eligible to apply if they have equivalent academic experience. Average undergraduate GPA of our Fall 2021 PhD class is 3.74/4.0 and for the Master's cohort is 3.56/4.0.
