This typically two-year program (four semesters) focuses on advanced instruction in both practical musicianship and academic music studies. Applicants for all specializations need to pass an audition and gain acceptance to the Graduate School. The curriculum requires completing at least 33 credit hours, participating in the Graduate Colloquium (MUS 6900) each term, delivering a final recital, and passing comprehensive written and oral exams in the last semester. Additional criteria apply for composition majors.
