The Yale School of Music's harp program provides comprehensive instruction in solo performance, ensemble work, and teaching, along with diverse extracurricular activities. Through individual lessons and regular studio workshops, students are motivated to study an extensive range of musical pieces. Participants engage in chamber music—a cornerstone of the YSM curriculum—and frequently appear in different ensemble arrangements during New Music New Haven events. Additionally, harpists gain orchestral experience by performing with the Yale Philharmonia, working with renowned guest conductors while exploring varied orchestral repertoire.
