This rigorous, practice-oriented program provides emerging conductors with chances to lead the UNM Symphony Orchestra and UNM Sinfonia, engage with faculty and peers through seminars, lessons, and masterclasses, and explore topics like interpretation, conducting techniques, rehearsal strategies, performance practices, and ensemble dynamics. Graduate assistantships are available, involving tasks such as assisting with rehearsals or concerts, managing the orchestra library, and supporting logistical operations.
