The Ceramics Program at the University of New Mexico encourages the cultivation of individual artistic expressions. Our curriculum encompasses functional ceramics, artistic objects, sculptural works, and installations, along with site-specific creations, community-focused initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaborations, all while adhering to national educational and safety guidelines.

Unique, location-based classes in traditional Pueblo Pottery techniques are instructed and designed by Clarence Cruz from Oh-kay Owingeh Pueblo. As a Luce Foundation Indigenous Knowledge Fellow, Professor Cruz promotes inclusive cultural exchange, leveraging the distinctive heritage of the Southwest region.
